Residents tired of asbestos clinic

The asbestos clinic was officially closed last year and residents have to queue in a tent to get services.

KABOKWENI – The sick had nowhere to go as the staff and the community of Khumbula on the outskirts of Kabokweni and surrounds closed the entrances to the local clinic on Monday morning.

They demand the demolishing of the asbestos clinic and the building of a new one.

“We are all here to support this demonstration as the community because our lives are at stake in this dilapidated, asbestos roofed clinic.
Some of the nurses are even suffering from tuberculosis. Our children and our relatives are also suffering from this clinic, we want a new one,” says Zodwa Sambo a resident who came to support the march.
