Residents march against land selling

MATAFFIN – The community of Mataffin near the where the 2010 Fifa World Cup’s Mbombela stadium is located, marched against the continued illegal land invasion and land selling in the area.

Yesterday hundreds of residents marched to the local municipality to deliver their memorandum.

They alleged that the municipality was dragging its feet in the matter and they also demanded the Hawks’ intervention in the matter of land selling.

They called for an immediate stop of the selling of land in question and the arrest of the perpetrators.

The land in question is owned by the Mattafin Community, Mdluli Trust and the Mbombela Local Municipality. Read more in the printed version of Mpumalanga News on Thursday.
