THULAMAHASHE – Residents took to social media to express their disgust after a foetus was found in a local sewer pipe.

According to Thembinkosi Sithole, an intern at the department of water and sanitation, his team found the still-born foetus when they were busy with routine maintenance on Wednesday morning.

“It seems as if the baby was flushed down a toilet somewhere in the township. The sight was unbearable and we called the police and a forensic team declared the baby dead,” he said.

Local police confirmed the case stating that a concealment of birth case has been opened and investigations are under-way.
