Mpumalanga police ready for elections

All relevant role players and Security Organs are responding promptly according to their roles and responsibilities.

The Provincial Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure in Mpumalanga led by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma, hereby declares Mpumalanga as on point and ready for the forthcoming Local Government Elections.

Lieutenant General Zuma indicated that the Provincial Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure as well as the Cluster Operational and Intelligence Structures are fully operational and geared up for the day including the special votes.

All relevant role players and Security Organs are responding promptly according to their roles and responsibilities. The police however have a Constitutional mandate to create a safe and secured environment in and around all Voting Stations.

It is against this background that the community is hereby urged to comply with the law.
Anyone who seeks to disrupt these elections or interfere with the Constitutional Rights of other people to cast their votes, will face the full might of the law.
