Residents urged to report leaking pipes

The department of water and sanitation has urged community members to report leaking pipes by dialling 0800 200 200.

MBOMBELA – Water supply is still a problem due to drought.
Some of the affected places in the lowveld region include places such as Barberton, Kabokweni and Pienaar, just to mention a few.

Mpumalanga News learnt that as part of encouraging community members to use water sparingly, the department of water and sanitation has urged community members to report leaking pipes by dialling 0800 200 200.

The spokesperson of the department, Mr Themba Khoza said “Drought is still a problem and we have embarked on various campaigns whereby we teach people to use water sparingly and we also have our hotline where people can report when they are experiencing leaking pipes or meters so that the matter will be attended urgently because every drop counts.”
