Elderley citizens find true love

When I first met her, it was love at first sight

BARBERTON – Two pensioners, Mr Albert Mabuza (87) and Ms Beauty Mthunywa (77), who met at Bob’s Old Age Centre, tied the knot during a colourful ceremony at Spearville Section in Emjindini on Saturday.
According to Mabuza, there was no doubt in his mind that it was love.
“When I first met her, it was love at first sight. I then asked to meet her family, asked for her hand and she accepted,” said Mabuza.
Mr Mvoro Matsebula, brother of Mthunywa, said they were surprised when Mabuza approached them as a family to ask for their approval.
“He came to our family as a guest. We were surprised when he asked for a ‘doek’ and paid lobola on the spot. As family, we accepted it and decided that we must not only accept the lobola money, but also arrange a white wedding for them,” said Matsebula.
“I was thinking that I would remain unmarried all my life. I am so happy that I am married now. This is certainly the happiest moment of my life. I am so thankful to Mabuza for choosing me as his partner,” said Mthunywa.
The couple will continue to stay at Bob’s Old Age Centre.
