Second suicidal attempt by Themba Hospital rooftop man
On the day of his admission to Rob Ferreira Hospital at around 19.00 the man went out of the bed and escaped through a door which is used as an entrance to the court yard where psychiatric patients relax.
The man who attempted to commit suicide last week on after climbing on Themba Hospital’s rooftop in Kabokweni is currently undergoing psychitric treatment
He was transferred to Rob Ferreira Hospital on Saturday after police successfully brought him down after spending more than 30 hours on the rooftop threatening to kill himself.
On arrival at Rob Ferreira, he was sedated and admitted to the Psychiatric ward. On the same day, the man was kept on the bed and was not viewed as a threat as he was sedated. He later tried to escape but was immediately spotted by security guards who gave chase.

Once on top of the roof of the hospital, the man threatened to commit suicide by jumping off the roof but security guards managed to pounce on him before he could jump.
He was immediately put in a seclusion room and will be kept in the hospital until he is mentally stable.
