Seven suspects arrested with explosives worth R3.7m

Seven suspects were arrested by Hawks for unlawful possession of explosives worth an estimated R3.7-million.

TONGA – The suspects‚ five men and two women‚ appeared before the Tonga Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and were granted bail of R1 500 each.

Monalo Khoza(31), Thulisile Nkomo (39), Sfiso Bonge Shabangu (32), Ronnei Lwazi Shabangu (49), Bheki Shabangu, Godfrey Sempira and Skhumbuzo Khoza (46) were arrested around Tonga area after information received of people who are selling explosives.

Investigation established that the arrested criminal gangs are of the same networking acquiring the military explosives from Mozambique Illegally through the border line.

The case is postponed to July 31,  2017 for further investigation.
