“We are not providing social grants” says Kholwane

Young people need to do more research before starting their own business

MBOMBELA – MEC of economic development, Eric Kholwane has raised serious concerns about young people who start their own businesses but fail to sustain them despite receiving funds from government.

He spoke about this during his fact-finding visit held yesterday at Sakhile in Standerton.
“As a department we are not providing a social grant, we are funding businesses. I have noticed that these days young people start their own business but fail to sustain them. Such things need to be addressed. The funds are not social grants. Youths are expected to use the money to grow their business, and it is important to start a sustainable business.”
