Premier Mabuza commits to support Highveld Industrial Park

Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza has committed to work with and support the recently established Highveld Industrial Park in Emalahleni Municipality.

The first of its kind industrial park in the province has been established at the premises of the former Highveld Steel Company which closed down after undergoing some financial difficulties in 2015.

Premier Mabuza visited the industrial park today [Wednesday, 01 November 2017] with the members of the executive council.

He made a commitment that provincial departments like Human Settlements, Education, Agriculture Rural Development Land and Environmental Affairs will work with the industrial park in those areas of complementarity such as skills development and production of material for the development of human settlements and the use of available agricultural land for production.

According to the Premier, some provincial departments will enter into agreements to work with the industrial park which saw over 3000 workers being retrenched when it closed down.

The premises have since been established as the industrial park where companies can set their businesses on the site. Currently, the industrial park offers rail services, has a gas supply, facility rentals as well as utilities, which will support the sustainability of their business.
