Another truck set alight in Mshadza poor service delivery protest

The service delivery protest continued on the R538 to Hazyview this morning.

MSHADZA – A Malalane Bricks truck was burnt and used to block the road.

The residents are demanding water and a school. According to some community members, they have not had water for months.

Mshadza community planning their next move.

The protest affected teaching and learning in the area. Police arrived at the scene to clear the road for some vehicles to pass. SAPS spokesperson for the Masoyi station, Capt Naniki Nonyane confirmed the incident. “A truck was burnt yesterday around 19:15 and a case of malicious damage to property was opened. No one was injured, police are looking for suspects.”

Police were called to calm the protesters.

Nonyane said the situation has been neutralised since the arrival of the police.-
