ANC branches take ANC to court on Friday

Disgruntled members of the ANC in the province are taking the national ANC, provincial ANC, Bohlabela ANC region and 39 of its members to the High Court on Friday.

In a bid to nullify the decision not to interdict the respondents from convening branch general meetings of what they term irregular branches for the purpose of electing candidates for the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature and Parliament pending the report on the proposed procedure on normalizing the branches as agreed during a meeting held on 22 September 2018 between the applicants, Mpumalanga NEC deployees and ANC Mpumalanga Provincial Working Committee.

The first respondent, ANC, is ordered to dissolve the ANC Provincial Executive Committee and be ordered to establish a Provincial Task Team.

According to the papers filed, case no 2878/2018, the applicants seek that the respondents jointly and severally be ordered to pay the costs of the Applicants, the one paying the other to be absolved.

The matter is to be heard on Friday 12 October 2018 at 10.00. The applicants are listed as Caiphus Malomane, Jelous Nyalunga, Lazaros Mashaba, Thandeka Dlamini and Vusi Lubisi.
