Barberton Secondary School burnt to ashes

Capt Jabu Ndubane spokesperson of the Pienaar Cluster says forensic experts have been called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

The department of education in Mpumalanga confirmed the sad news of Barberton High School being destroyed by fire last night.

It is alleged that the school was struck by lighting. Mr Jasper Zwane spokesperson for the department said the cause of the tragedy is still under investigation.
“We could not confirm the cause of the fire yet.Our team of officials had rushed to the scene this morning to get the facts of the matter” he said.
