Barberton doctor arrested for allegedly assaulting wife
A local doctor spent the weekend behind bars after he was arrested in the early hours of Saturday.
BARBERTON – Dr Philemon Mankodi Marakalla was arrested for violating a protection order granted to his wife.

Capt Jabu Ndubane, Barberton police spokesman confirmed Marakalla’s arrest.
He was arrested on Saturday for allegedly assaulting his wife with a hammer and also for violation of a protection order,” said Ndubane.
Marakalla appeared before the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on Monday. He was released on free bail. He will appear before the same court on June. 7.
