Nominations Open for 2019 Health Excellence Awards

Healthcare is the fastest growing sector of the South African economy, employing a lot of employees.

Healthcare workers face a wide range of hazards on the job, including needlestick injuries, back injuries, latex allergy, violence, threats, sleep deprivation, exposure to infectious diseases, dealing with difficult or seriously ill patients, dealing with dying patients and stress.

Although it is possible to prevent or reduce healthcare worker exposure to these hazards, healthcare workers continue to have to experience injuries and illnesses in the workplace.

The HEA (Health Excellence Awards) is a way of recognizing Healthcare workers and institutions and rewarding them of the good work they provide to patients/ community.

Other Health professionals go an extra mile to assist patients and these are the kind of people this we aim to recognize and reward.
