Five people killed over the last 24 hours in three seperate crashes

The cause of these crashes is still being investigated by the police.

Five people lost their lives in three separate crashes that occurred since last night.

Two people died as a result of a Mozambiquean bound minibus overturning on N4 toll road near Komatipoort around 06h00 this morning.

About 14 passengers were injured and the paramedics are still at the scene.

The two, a male and female, passed away at the scene of the crash.

Another two people died on N4 toll road near Elandshoek towards Mbombela when a truck collided with a light delivery vehicle (LDV).

The truck overturned after colliding with the LDV. One person was seriously injured.

At about 00h10 another head-on crash occurred between the truck and the bus on N4 toll road near Malelane.

The driver of the truck was killed at the scene.

Six people escaped with slight injuries and were taken to Shongwe Hospital.

The cause of these crashes is still being investigated by the polic.
