Armed robbery accused rearrested after escape
Norman Sylvester Mokoena, was rearrested by the members of Mpumalanga Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Tactical Response Team, Crime Intelligence this past Saturday in Bushbuckridge.
The long arm of the law has finally caught up with a suspect who had escaped from police custody.

Also known as “Dallas”, the 23-year-old escaped from the Calcutta Magistrate’s Court on November 5, 2019, after he had made a brief appearance. According to Capt Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi, during his arrest, Dallas had been found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Also

Mokoena was circulated as a most wanted on July 8 for escaping from lawful custody after he escaped from Calcutta Magistrate’s Court holding cells. He had just been denied bail for a series of armed robbery cases he committed in Bushbuckridge (Marite) whereby he targeted delivery trucks,” explained Sekgotodi.
He appeared in absentia in the Mhala Magistrate’s Court on September 3 for a chain of armed robbery cases and escaping from police custody. The case was postponed to September 10.
