Hitch-hiker charged with murder

He briefly appeared in White River Magistrate's Court. He was charged with counts of murder, theft and possession of unlicensed firearm.

Family members of 46-year-old Andrew Thulare, a prominent figure in the community, are still in disbelief regarding his sudden death over the weekend.

Thulare was allegedly shot and killed by 34-year-old Edwin Ngwenyama, who stole Thulare’s firearm which had been hidden in the victim’s car. Ngwenyama was given a lift by Thulare and his brother after they had seen him him hitch-hiking around Jerusalem. It is alleged that when they reached White River the siblings went to a nearby restaurant next to a fuel station and left Ngwenyama in the car.
