Police investigating ATM bombing in Matsulu

Heavily armed suspects broke the gate to the main entrance to gain access to the complex.

The police in Mpumalanga have launched a manhunt for the suspects who bombed two ATMs.

The incident is reported to have happened at a shopping complex in Matsulu in the early hours of this morning.

According to information given to the SAPS, the heavily armed suspects broke the gate to the main entrance to gain access to the complex.

Shots were fired whereafter the ATMs were bombed. The suspects then fled the scene. No one was injured during the incident. It is unknown at this stage how much money was stolen.  

Anyone with information that can help police trace the suspects, is urged to contact the Investigation Officer, Sergeant Finish Mkhabela at 0721743394 or call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111.
