Food and music to collide and synergise
Food Porn is a unique, intimate and secluded experiential social gathering of people who share the love of house music and good food.
This is according to Thebigzill Onair, the founder and organiser of Mpumalanga’s finest dining and dancing event.
“In short, we feast and dance,” he told Mpumalanga News. The date for the fourth instalment of this secluded experience is on September 25 at a secret location, but within the City of Mbombela.
“The reason why we don’t reveal the exact location is simply because we want to create hype around this event. It is only ticket holders who get to know where our gathering takes place,” explained Onair.
This year’s theme is “All Shades of White”. Patrons must come dressed in all white. He explained that “food porn” refers to the glamourised visual presentation of food. This hashtag is widely used by foodies and chefs on social media worldwide when sharing visuals of food.

“Food Porn is not about showing off. This event is not about proving anything to anyone. It is also not about egos. Food Porn is about beautiful vibrations. It is about the energy we share when we come together. It is a unique platform to network,” he explained. He said due to Covid-19 they are doing things differently, like with the sale of tickets.
“Due to the pandemic, we are using our FNB banking account, 62 880 194 172, with branch code 256405. Use your name and surname as your reference to book your space. Tickets cost R550 each, but there’s a R50 discount if you purchase four or more tickets.
“It is extremely important that after paying, you send us your proof of payment, with your name and surname and email address via WhatsApp to 072 120 2278. If you do not send us your proof of payment, we will not be able to allocate your ticket. This is very important. Also if you are buying more than one, we will need all the names and surnames of your guests too,” he added.
He said patrons are treated to a VIP experience with food prepared by top chefs. As usual, he said the line-up of performers remains a secret.
