Mpumalanga gears up to resuscitate Youth League

Efforts to revive the ANC Youth League are well underway, and the race for the driver’s seat has ensued in the province with Sibusiso Buda Mdluli taking an early lead.

Traditionally, the ANCYL has over the years been regarded as the kingmaker in the governing party’s politics, but this vibrant movement died after the expulsion of its former president, Julius Malema, in 2012.

The mother body, the ANC, officially disbanded the Youth League in 2018 after it had failed to elect new leadership.
