MEC Mandla Msibi in court on charges of murder and attempted murder – will apply for bail on Tuesday
The MEC appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Monday (October 11).
The MEC in Mpumalanga arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder on Monday morning has been identified as Mandla Msibi.
This was confirmed by Monica Nyuswa, the spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority.

Msibi, the MEC for the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs, accompanied by his attorney, handed himself over to police in Mbombela in connection with at least two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
He is alleged to have been involved in a shooting in which two people were fatally shot and a third person wounded on Sunday August 22 in Mbombela.
His arrest brings the total number of people arrested in connection with this case to three. On September 17 police arrested Joseph Charlie Ngwenya (35) and Tshepo Matsane (30).
They both appeared in court at least twice before and were granted bail of R20 000 each on Friday October 8.
Nyuswa confirmed that Msibi appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday afternoon on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
The matter was postponed to Tuesday, October 12 for a bail hearing.
He was remanded in custody.
