Rovers crowned champs
The teams that competed were City Rovers (Masoyi), Elands United (Elandshoek), Mighty Home United (Oakley, Bushbuckridge) and Amelia Football Academy (Msholozi).
Soccer players showed off their skills during the last games of the season in the u/18 Sinani Premier League (SPL). It was survival of the fittest as the four teams that made it to the finals played against one another at Mbombela Stadium last Saturday.

The teams that competed were City Rovers (Masoyi), Elands United (Elandshoek), Mighty Home United (Oakley, Bushbuckridge) and Amelia Football Academy (Msholozi).
City Rovers were the last team standing and they took the trophy home after playing the final against Elands. The final score was 5-1.
Earlier on the day, Amelia FA faced Elands and lost 3-1. Mighty Home played against City Rovers and lost 5-2. Cyril Morele, a SPL coordinator, said it was an exciting season and the players’ skills were tested.
“The players had a great game as they competed at Mbombela Stadium. We felt blessed to play on that field. We want to congratulate the winning team and those that made it to the finals.” Bheki Zitha (18) of City Rovers was player of the tournament and the top goal scorer in the eight games. Thomas Makwakwa (16) was the goalkeeper of the season and captain of Elands United.

Isaac Tebete (15) of Junior Warriors (Malalane) was named the young player of the season. “Even if his team did not make it to the finals, this young player is a humble leader and he is always in control on the field.”
Sinani is a non-profit organisation started by Church Unlimited. It was created as a platform to provide the youth with a sense of identity, while developing their character and modelling servanthood, discipline and respect.
