UMP student mysteriously dies

The family of a 21-year-old student of the University of Mpumalanga (UMP), Mbombela Campus, is still in shock and disturbed after the death of their son Excellent Mlangeni, who mysteriously died while attending classes.

MBOMBELA – According to the family, Mlangeni fell down dead at about 07:30 on Wednesday morning, but his family in White River was only called to the campus around 10:00.

“When we arrived at the scene, ambulances were already there and were preparing to take his body away. Why were we not called immediately after this, so we could witness and be part of the whole process as it unfolded?

What is the big secret?” questioned Mlangeni’s mother, Doris.

“We were just 15 minutes’ drive away from the campus, but we were called almost after three hours. Does the university not have records of parents of students on their system?” she wanted to know.

Mlangeni leaves behind his parents and siblings, including his sister, a Idols participant, Blessed Mlangeni.

The university’s spokesperson, Tlangelani Ubisi, said, “The University of Mpumalanga and its management, staff and students, learned with great sadness about the news of the untimely passing of Mlangeni, a third-year student enrolled for a bachelor of science (BSc) in agriculture. “He passed on after he collapsed at the UMP Mbombela Campus on November 24.

Paramedics were speedily called to attend to him. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time,” he concluded.
