Man remanded in custody for multiple charges

The 18-year-old man, Irvin Nkanyane, who faces charges of murder and attempted murder, has appeared in the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody.

BUSHBUCKRIDGE – According to a Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brig Selvy Mohlala, Nkanyane was arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing two brothers while gambling at a tavern at Violetbank, Bushbuckridge last Sunday.

“One of the brothers died in hospital after being stabbed, while the other one sustained injuries and is still in hospital.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred inside a yard of a certain tavern which was reportedly closed at that time. An argument broke out between the young man and the two brothers while gambling,” said Mohlala.

“One brother was fatally stabbed and the other one is still in hospital after sustaining injuries,” he confirmed.
