Learner first in the province’s quintile three schools

Lyn scored 100% in accounting and is one of the top 10 learners in the Class of 2021 in Mpumalanga.

A learner of Khutsalani Secondary School, Lyn Mpangane, came first in the quintile three schools in the province. This 18-year-old is also the second-best learner of the quintile three schools in the country.

This was announced by basic education minister, Angie Motshekga, during the national matric announcement results event on Friday January 21 at the University of Mpumalanga.

Lyn scored 100% in accounting and is one of the top 10 learners in the Class of 2021 in Mpumalanga. All the students who ranked among the province’s top 10, achieved distinctions in all their subjects.

Her plans are to study medicine at the University of Cape Town.

“I was accepted and I will be leaving my home next week. I am excited to start my new journey and I look what forward to achieving my dreams. I want to be a gynaecologist and help families that are struggling to conceive. I would also like to be a gynaecologist, because I want to make it easy for women to come to me when they are facing challenges.”

She said after completing her studies, she wants to start an orphanage.

“I have managed to achieve what I have because of my parents, and I want the same opportunity to be given to those who do not have parents,” she explained. According to her, she managed to achieve her marks through planning and implementing the plans thoroughly. “Do not procrastinate. Study, create a timetable and follow it without failure.”

In her school there are two other learners who were also invited to the provincial matric results announcement event, Amanda Mdluli and Bhekiwe Nkambule.

These two girls are among the learners who had 100% in maths and physical science.
