Families want loved ones’ remains returned
The families of Felicia and Noxolo said the law has taken its course and it is now time for them to lay their children to rest.
The families of some of the females who were murdered by the convicted serial killer Julius Thabiso Mndawe (26) of Numbi Trust, said they wanted the remains of their loved ones.

Mndawe was sentenced by the Mpumalanga High Court on Thursday February 10 to five life terms in prison for five counts of premeditated murder and 25 years for five counts of defeating the ends of justice, for murdering and burying Banele Khoza (15), Noxolo Mdluli (17), Tokie Tlaka (24), Nomthandazo Mdluli (19) and Felicia Ndlovu (17) between 2018 and 2019 in Numbi Village in Hazyview.
The families of Felicia and Noxolo said the law has taken its course and it is now time for them to lay their children to rest. He was arrested in 2019 after he had confessed to killing these women and burying them in his yard. Their remains were exhumed by the police and the two families said the last time they had seen the remains, was on that day.

Thembisile Mdluli said she is glad that justice was served, however, she does not have peace of mind, because as a family they have not given Noxolo a proper burial.
“I am not happy because I have been left in the dark. I would like to ask the government to intervene so that we as Noxolo’s family can receive her remains so that we can have closure and let go of this just like other families. Our spirit is broken and we have no idea what is happening with them.
