Conference gets go-ahead after Ramaphosa urges unity
This elective conference has been postponed many times for a number of reasons, including Covid-19.
MBOMBELA – As the Mpumalanga ANC gears up for its long-overdue conference, the party’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, has advised branches to elect a leadership that will unify the province.

Ramaphosa was in Mpumalanga on Monday and spent the entire day interacting with party branch executives within the Ehlanzeni Region.
Addressing the media after his marathon session with the ANC structures, led by the newly appointed provincial task team (PTT), Ramaphosa said unity within the organisation was of paramount importance, and therefore branches or voting delegates must ensure that unity becomes the order of the day.

“I have raised with the branch delegates the issue of unity and stressed the benefits thereof, because there has been serious disunity among them. I advised them to choose a leadership that will unify the province and that will take the province forward,” said Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa told the media that this session actually discussed at length a number of topical and burning issues affecting the organisation, such as the dismal performance in the November 1 local government elections and the state of readiness of the much-awaited provincial conference.
