TS Galaxy survive the chop

Galaxy’s campaign this season was both cold and hot, which propelled the team’s boss, Tim Sukazi to make some changes in the coaching department.

Following their miraculous escape from relegation, TS Galaxy head coach, Sead Ramovic has vowed that his team will never find themself in a nail-biting situation ever again.

Galaxy came into the final game of the season in desperate need of all three points to avoid any potential relegation challenges.

They stole a late winner against Chippa United this past Saturday, which retained them their place in the country’s football’s top flight, the DStv Premiership, in the upcoming 2022/23 season.

This victory for the Rockets has seen them finishing this season in position 13 on the table with 30 points.

Baroka FC finished the season on the bottom of the log with 25 points and therefore are relegated to the GladAfrica Championship. Finishing in the 15th spot are the Dube Birds, Swallows FC, who have earned a spot in the play-offs against two GladAfrica Championship outfits, University of Pretoria and Cape Town All Stars.

“When I took over the team had no structure, no tactical knowledge. We showed the guys what’s important. The spirit, the fight they showed was unbelievable. I don’t believe many teams would have come back after picking up two points after eight games. It was almost impossible to stay in the league, but we kept going. In the end, dedication and hard work brought us success. I am happy that we are safe and it’s a beautiful thing,” said the jubilant Ramovic.

“I will start to prepare for the new season. I can promise that TS Galaxy from now will be at the top and no longer down. Our goal is to be in the top eight so we have to prepare ourselves. We are preparing for the new season,” promised Ramovic.

The team parted ways with veteran coaches, Dan Malesela and Owen da Gama, but the situation never really improved and as a result they found themselves in a situation where they had to fight against relegation.
