Bees netball team sting KaNyamazane’s

The Bees won the match comfortably and confidently, taking advantage of a seemingly insecure KaNyamazane squad.

During a netball game at the KaNyamazane sports court on Thursday June 16, played as part of celebrating Youth Month, the Bees easily beat the KaNyamazane team, netting 16 points against their 10.

The match got off to a fast start, but the KaNyamazane girls could not keep the ball. From the first minute, the Bees gained command of the game and moved forward in a fairly rhythmic manner. The Bees girls scored in the first few minutes of the game and were able to maintain their lead until the final whistle.

Coach Sfiso Hlengethwa of the KaNyamazane Netball Club said the game was a bit tough, and it was a learning curve for his girls. They intend to use the experience to correct their mistakes.

“It was a very fair game. Unfortunately, we could not manage to push as hard as the Bees did. My girls lost focus during the match and their centre passes were not very good. I am happy that this was a chance for them to learn and to also note their mistakes so that they can be rectified during practice and we can be ready for the next game.”

The KaNyamazane club captain, Thembelihle Jiyane, said, “We had a really great game, but our rivals were a bit tougher. Despite our loss today, I am delighted that this match happened, because we gained a lot of experience and hope to do better next time. I feel that the umpires were really not fair towards us, but we will go back to the court and practise more.”
