All schools in the Ehlanzeni District were encouraged to invite and mobilise local stakeholders, community-based organisations, parents, teachers, non-teaching staff, learners, former learners and local business communities to assist in cleaning, basic painting, fixing broken windowpanes, preparing and planting flowers and vegetable gardens, and planting trees to improve the schools’ surroundings.

Communities are encouraged to return any school property they may have, including school furniture, textbooks and electronic devices. All schools in the district were encouraged to take part.
They were granted time off and will be expected to submit a formal report on how they handled the activities.

According to Majuba, Rhandza Xikolo xa Wena aims to address most of the negative challenges that schools experience by mobilising communities to always own and safeguard their schools. “This is an initiative that must be used to condemn all forms off ills that find their way into schools, like bullying, corporal punishment, drug trafficking and harassment.”
