IN PHOTOS: Heaps of fun with Lowvelder Express and Emoyeni Mall

Entrepreneurs gathered at the mall for the social market day to market their businesses.

Entrepreneurs had fun while they marketed their businesses and networked with local shoppers during the social market day hosted at Emoyeni Regional Mall.

Business owners planted their gazebos in the mall’s parking area on Saturday July 30 and showcased what their brands are all about. Your favourite weekly read, Lowvelder Express, could not miss out on the fun to bring the newspaper to its people.

Shoppers did not hesitate to pose and interact with Express, led by its editor, Mbekezeli Mbuli, sales rep, Bajabulile Malope, and journalist, Bongekile Khumalo.

“It is always a pleasure to touch base with our readers in Nsikazi. Such an event gave us the opportunity to get to know some of our loyal readers and hear more of their stories,” Mbuli said.

The mall’s marketing manager, Nomfundo Zitha, said the aim was to bring entrepreneurs to a mutual place so they can attract more clients. “It is a way of allowing small business owners to market their brand and to allow them a space to do so, because most cannot afford to have space inside the mall yet,” Zitha said.

“We host such events frequently to show our support to the community that we serve. As much as they support the mall by choosing to buy their essential goods here, we also support them by helping them grow their businesses,” she said.

Zitha said the mall’s management has seen the great impact such events have on small businesses. “To participate in the social market is free. We host them on a weekend because there are more people coming into the mall for shopping, so it is free marketing for them.”

Zitha said they are looking forward to hosting more social markets soon that entrepreneurs can be on the lookout for.

Many shoppers went home with brand-new prizes that they won from the competition that the mall ran for the day.
