Photos released of 4 suspects after Lydenburg jail escape
Technical issues have delayed the release of two escapees’ photos after six men broke out of the Lydenburg police cells.

The Lydenburg police have released photos of four of the six suspects who escaped from the holding cells early this morning, November 29.
The released photos are of Francisco Vasco Maganja (47), Fana Fenyane (38), Clayton Flank (37) and Sergio Laurenco Mandoza (34).

They were arrested on various charges, including murder, rape and malicious damage to property.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Mpho Nonyane-Mpe said photos of the remaining two suspects were still outstanding and would be released at a later stage.

“We are experiencing some technical challenges at the moment. Hence, we only managed to download four photos. We are hopeful that we will have the others soon,” she said.
The outstanding photos are of France Malatjie, who faces a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm, and Isaac Malope, who is facing a rape charge.

The six men escaped through a hole in the wall of their police cell at about 02:30.
It is believed they broke a washbasin and used it to create the hole.

Members of the night shift were inspecting the premises when they discovered the escape.
Investigations are ongoing.
