One million surgical gowns donated to Tintswalo Hospital in Acornhoek

This much needed donation was handed to MEC Sasekani Manzini, who received it on behalf of the hospital.

A donation of about one million surgical gowns will now bring welcome relief to patients and health workers at Tintswalo Hospital.

On Wednesday September 21, the MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, received this donation from the AM Group.
A surgical gown is a personal protective garment intended to be worn by healthcare personnel during surgical procedures to protect both the patient and the operator.

Manzini said this donation will not only make a difference in one hospital.

“We will be able to distribute some of these gowns to nearby hospitals, which will assist us as the department, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. The budget that was supposed to be used for surgical gowns will now be channelled to other things that are desperately needed.”

She said she hopes that other companies will remember that the health department is for everyone.

“One of the directors of this company is from the Acornhoek area and we appreciate that the AM Group has donated to this local hospital. We also appreciate the fact that they remember rural areas and make donations to the Department of Health. For us to provide quality healthcare services, we need such donations.”
