Bail opposed for accused of murder of chief traffic officer in Hazyview

Charles Mabuza and Saico Ngoma will appear again in June following the their bail being successfully opposed recently the Hazyview Periodical Court.

Charles Mabuza and Saico Ngoma, who are facing charges of allegedly murdering chief traffic officer, Judas Chiloane, have been denied bail.

They made a brief appearance in the Hazyview Periodical Court on Thursday April 20. They also face a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Chiloane was shot multiple times by two men with his own service firearm on March 11.

He was with a female friend during the incident. The couple had parked just off the road between Hazyview and Sabie when the shooting occurred. She was unharmed during the ordeal.

The Hawks managed to make the first arrest in Shabalala Trust on March 13. During a manhunt, the alleged accomplice was found in hiding in Nyongane Village near Hazyview.

The two made various appearances in court for bail application, which was successfully opposed.

The case has been postponed to June 29. They remain in custody.
