Nsikazi musician brings his music closer to more of his fans

A gospel musician has various projects coming up with the aim to bring his music to the rest of South Africa and neighbouring countries.

The “Jehovah ushay’ihlabekisa ngami” hit-maker and multi-award-winning gospel musician, Sfiso Shongwe, also known as Sfiso S, has great projects lined up for his music lovers.

He released his sixth studio album, titled Wangshaya nge Surprise, in July.

The musician from Manyeveni in Nsikazi said he is preparing to tour around the country and in eSwatini, performing to share his music with the rest of the country.

“The tour, called Sfiso S to the People, will commence in Limpopo in September and travel through the province leading to Mpumalanga and the rest of the country. I am also planning to host a live recording of my popular songs from all my albums, called The Best of Sfiso S.”

He said his new album has been well received in the gospel music scene, and Mpumalangans have showed him great support. “The album has 10 songs, and so far, the most loved one is the title track, ‘Wangshaya nge Surprise’. This is a song about positivity to uplift believers and revive the hope they have placed in God,” he said.

Shongwe said this album was the most challenging to work on.

“I wanted the whole project to be a hit. We have about seven recorded versions of the album. I am elated that I finally released this work of art, which took two years to craft.”

Shongwe said he put so much work in to be the successful independent musician he is today. He has won several awards, including in the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards for best song of the year and best songwriter of the year. He has a recording label, SSS Records.
