Two people found murdered in Steiltes on Christmas

A woman was shot once in the head, while a man was killed by multiple shots.

A double murder in Steiltes on Christmas has been reported. A man succumbed to multiple gunshots, while a woman was shot once, in the head.

The SAPS says the victims were certified dead on the scene by ER24.

“The police received a complaint that two people were shot dead and they attended to the scene. All role players were called in. The deceased were identified as Shaun Pretorius and Ilonka Craucamp. It seems nothing was taken from the house. investigations into what might have happened or led to these murders are still under way,” said a provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.

Hi-Tech’s Frank Swanepoel says they were called to check on the house by a family member, and upon inspection, they saw the two dead bodies on the floor in the living room and immediately called the police.

“Upon arrival at about 21:00 on Christmas Day, we found the windows were closed and only one door was left unlocked. We are still investigating what might have taken place prior to the murder,” said Swanepoel.
