WATCH: Senior manager Victor Swan foils theft at Engen Garage Riverside

Victor Swan, the senior manager of Engen Garage Riverside, sprung into action when alerted about a theft at the petrol station and chased down the suspect.

On Tuesday January 30, at around 14:45, Victor Swan (22), the senior manager of Engen Garage Riverside, was alerted by his employees about a suspected thief.

Swan, a player of Nelspruit Rugby Club, approached the suspect in the Woolworths section of the store. The man, noticing the attention, quickly exited. Swan pursued, initiating a chase of about 300m until a taxi halted.

Passengers intervened, assaulting the suspect. Swan then intervened, separating him from the mob, and he pleaded for leniency. Upon reaching the garage, the suspect was confined to the waiting room, where the SAPS subsequently made an arrest.
