Thulamahashe community to benefit from state-of-the-art amenities
The Mpumalanga Department of Human Settlements handed over the Thulamahashe Community Hall, a childcare centre and 250 title deeds to local homeowners.

The MEC for human settlements, Speedy Mashilo, led the opening of the state-of-the-art Thulamahashe Community Hall and Thulamahashe Early Childhood Development Centre, with the the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality (BLM) executive mayor, Sylvia Nxumalo, on Tuesday February 6.
With the aim to benefit the community of Bushbuckridge, 250 local homeowners of government-subsidised houses became beneficiaries of title deeds on the day.
According to Mashilo, the provision of social amenities is in line with the service delivery of integrated sustainable human settlements and ensuring liveable neighbourhoods.
“We urge the community to take care of the facilities so they can be facilities that can be utilised by future generations. This is the service delivery we aim to provide for our people,” he said.

The community can make use of hall, with seating capacity of 750 people, for social events such as meetings, weddings and cultural and recreation activities.
The childcare centre is equipped with ablution facilities, kitchen, restrooms and play areas.

Nxumalo said the facilities are appreciated and this is a milestone for the BLM as community events will be facilitated effectively.
