EFF president to lead the party’s manifesto launch at the KaNyamazane Stadium in Mpumalanga
This provincial leg of the party's manifesto comes just days after the EFF had hosted the national manifesto launch in Durban which saw scores of people filling up Moses Mabhida Stadium.
All roads lead to KaNyamazane Stadium where the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) president, Julius Malema is set to address the party’s manifesto launch tomorrow, Saturday March 9.
This provincial leg of the party’s manifesto comes shortly after the national manifesto launch recently held in Durban at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Just a week ago, Gauteng hosted its provincial manifesto launch which saw thousands of party members filling up the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto, a feat which the Mpumalanga EFF wants to emulate.
“We are pulling all stops to get everyone to come to KaNyamazane Stadium. Our team, which is being led by our national treasurer general, Omphile Maotwe and our ground forces, have been on the ground since last week preparing to host a successful manifesto launch,” said the party’s provincial chairperson, Collen Sedibe.

Sedibe said that since his party is forever growing in the province, with young people joining, they anticipate a full house and also looking at attracting new membership to be part of this launch.
Sedibe said their manifesto’s theme for the 2024 elections is ‘Our land, jobs now and stop load-shedding’.
“Our theme speaks to the daily issues and challenges still faced by our people. What we are saying here is that there is simply no life at all without land, employment opportunities and electricity. The unemployment rate is at an all-time high, while load-shedding has become the norm. Sadly, both unemployment and load-shedding contribute hugely towards the high poverty levels in which our people live,” said Sedibe.
He also stressed that the manifesto they are launching was not cooked up in secret and in offices, but was born after massive community engagement with different sectors such as tourism, education, health, security and even domestic workers.

Spearheaded by Maotwe, the EFF conducted a series of consultative sessions aimed at affording the people the opportunity to write this manifesto based on their daily needs and challenges.
Maotwe said it was critically important for them to consult communities and give them a platform and an opportunity to participate in the drafting of the party’s manifesto.
“For instance, we all know Mpumalanga is very rich in tourism, and for us to understand tourism and how we can help it grow when we are in charge of government, we engage with experts and all those within this sector. So, in short, our manifesto on tourism talks to all the issues and ideas shared by some of the province’s tourism experts and players within this sector. Our manifesto is not scientific, and is definitely not a thumb-sucked document, but a deliverable reality drawn up by our people.”
Maotwe added that while focusing on clear, implementable and decisive programmes for all spheres of governance, the EFF’s emphasis for the 2024 general elections will be on land, jobs and electricity. She pleaded with the public and the electorate to bless the EFF with a vote on May 29, in order for them to be able to implement these programmes.
