Cyril Ramaphosa to host presidential imbizo in eMalahleni
The president and other government leaders will assess the progress made on service delivery in the Nkangala District Municipality at the imbizo on March 7.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will lead the District Development Model (DDM) Presidential Imbizo with communities and stakeholders at the St Mthimunye Stadium in Ackerville in eMalahleni in the Nkangala District Municipality from 11:00 on Thursday March 7.
The imbizo is directed at enabling successful implementation of the One District, One Plan DDM, in which residents, traditional leaders, business formations, organised labour and faith and community-based organisations work with government across all phases of planning, implementation and evaluation.
The 12th Presidential Imbizo, with the theme ‘Leave No One Behind’, promotes participatory democracy and inclusive development by allowing community members and stakeholders to voice proposals and express any concerns or dissatisfaction they may have about conditions in the district or province.

Together with the president, governmental leaders will assess the progress made and be briefed on challenges associated with the improvement of service delivery.
As a build-up to the imbizo, the minister and deputy minister of public service and administration, Noxolo Kiviet and Dr Chana Pilane-Majake respectively, conducted prepresidential imbizos today, March 6.

Kiviet led a service delivery imbizo with public servants focusing on the professionalisation of the public service and the Public Service Wage Bill at one of the Nkangala District Municipality chambers in Middelburg, while Pilane-Majake gathered at the eMalahleni Civic Centre with faith-based organisations.
