The organiser, Nolwazi Shiba, said the school believes that making learning enjoyable and relevant encourages learners to be eager to go to school. “The games were aimed at developing the learners’ social skills with some entertainment. Additionally, it required some co-ordination so that the learners would understand the importance of social skills and friendships during and after school. The learners were divided into four colour groups; blue, red, yellow and white.”

The teachers were assigned to each team to assist the learners to abide by the game’s regulations. Shiba added that there were activities like doughnuts on a string, a sack race and a balloon cup stacking game. The school intends to frequently host these kinds of games in the future.
