Kruger United FC won against Cape Town Spurs in a Motsepe Foundation Championship game played at KaNyamazane Stadium on Sunday October 27.

The home team managed to pick up three maximum points in their clash against the Urban Warriors. They won 1-0, courtesy of Thabo Nkwana’s goal. Cape Town Spurs failed to recover, after conceding in the first 45 minutes of the match.

Spurs fought for an equaliser in the second stanza, but were unable to penetrate Kruger’s well-marshalled defence. This resulted in the Spurs heading back home without a point.

Currently, Kruger United are languishing at 14th on the log, while Spurs is in 10th position. According to Nosipho

Hadebe of Kruger United, they will be going to their next game against Leruma United at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, Pretoria, on Sunday October November 3, oozing with confidence after this win.

She said their main aim is to move to the Premiership Soccer League so that they will be safe in the log standing next year.

Talking about Sunday’s game, Hadebe said the team did not want to disappoint their fans and they made sure they delivered. She said they played well and fought hard, because they knew the importance of winning this game.
