Stunning fashion showcased by up-and-coming designers in Mbombela

Angelique Designs’ fashion show gave designers an opportunity to showcase some of their exceptional work to the public.

A local fashion studio, Angelique Designs, has grown and nurtured some talented aspiring fashion designers who exhibited some of their designs at the Angelique Designs Fashion Show’s 2024 graduation.

The runway was rolled out at an extravagant 2-in-1 event comprising the show and graduation at the Royal Lodge on Saturday evening, October 26. The 12 designers brought their A game to the runway with creative bespoke and everyday wear.

Angelique Designs’ founder, the designer, Angelique Mazibuko, said these aspiring designers who want to penetrate the fashion industry were awarded certificates for completing a short clothing design course. She said although these courses are not yet accredited, she offers basic and advanced classes for a period of six months. “This is an opportunity where designers gain exposure as they start out. Such a platform is important, because it assists in building young people who are skilled and have the heart and passion to work towards becoming the greatest fashion designers who can earn a living from it, and this is the goal. Therefore, these designers can create employment for others and contribute to the local economy,” she said.

Mazibuko added that fashion shows like these not only elevate the work of designers who spend a lot of time to produce it, but also the models who help exhibit their clothes.
