Man appears in Mbibane Magistrate’s Court for allegedly shooting woman at her workplace
A police spokesperson said that after arresting the suspect, the police discovered a firearm hidden underneath a rock.
A 45-year-old appeared in the Mbibane Magistrate’s Court on March 10, facing charges of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm after he allegedly shot a woman.
Johannes Khoza first appeared in court on March 3 and the matter was postponed for further investigation. After appearing again on Monday, Khoza was remanded in custody and his case was postponed again to May 7.
According to a police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, the incident happened on March 1 at about 20:30.
“The victim was at her workplace in Leeufontein when she heard the suspect calling for her to come outside. She peeped through the window and that was when he allegedly shot her in the stomach.”

“The suspect is said to have fled the scene. The victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment and has since been discharged,” Ndubane said.
She added that Khoza was arrested on the same day at his home. “A .38 special revolver and some live rounds of ammunition were found in the yard, wrapped in cloth underneath a rock.”
