During the court proceedings, it was revealed that the victim was visiting a friend’s family home in Driekoppies when the attack occurred.
“After the friend’s departure, the perpetrator took advantage of the situation. He violently assaulted the victim, destroying her mobile phone, and forced her into his bedroom, where he repeatedly raped her. Following the assault, the victim bravely fled the scene, seeking help while still in a state of distress, ultimately reaching a nearby house for assistance,” Ndubane said.
The victim reported the traumatic experience to her family and was subsequently taken to the Schoemansdal Police Station where a rape case was officially opened.
