Silulumanzi’s 67 minutes of kindness supports GRIP safe house
Silulumanzi visited two organisations as part of honouring Madiba.
Silulumanzi commemorated Nelson Mandela Day by spending their 67 minutes at a Greater Rape Intervention Project (GRIP) safe house on Thursday, July 17.
They painted several rooms to freshen up the facility and donated essential items, including groceries, blankets, a trampoline and R50 000.
According to Silulumanzi spokesperson, Richmond Jele, the water utility company identified two NPOs within the City of Mbombela for its Mandela Day outreach – the Sinethemba Drop-In Centre in Luphisi Trust and GRIP.
Sinethemba is a registered non-profit and designated child protection organisation.

GRIP is dedicated to addressing gender-based violence and supporting survivors in Mpumalanga. It provides essential care and support services.
GRIP’s CEO, Tarryn Lokotsch, expressed gratitude for the donation.”We appreciate Silulumanzi’s support and that they recognise the work we do for victims. All donations go a long way in helping those in need; anyone else is welcome to contribute,” she said.
GRIP relies on sponsorships, government grants, private donations, and international funding.

“Since the executive order issued earlier this year by the Trump administration shifting US foreign policy, we’ve experienced financial cuts that have impacted our care, research and development projects,” Lokotsch said.
