The members of the St Anne Solidarity Organisation of Married Women gathered to celebrate the strength of women in today’s society.

The event was hosted at St Peter’s Primary School on Saturday in honour of Women’s Day.

The high tea was more than just a social event, it was a fundraiser with a mission to uplift those in need. St Anne Solidarity is an organisation of married women within the Catholic Church who understand the value and role of a women in families, communities and churches.

According to the organiser, Senzile Malinga, this year’s celebration came at a time when women continue to face challenges such as gender-based violence and financial hardships.

“Regardless of all the challenges they face, women still stand strong and find a way to hold their families together, provide for their children and contribute meaningfully to the society.”We gathered to reflect, recharge and recognise the strength we carry every day,” said Malinga.

She said the money from the tickets sales will go towards supporting orphanages and less fortunate individuals in their church and communities.
