Young KaBokweni comedian gains traction on social media

The content creator said that his content became popular when he started posting funny videos, imitating people and using trending TikTok sounds.

A local comedian, content creator, actor and gqom dancer’s creativity is gaining popularity on social media.

Andile Sibiya (23), well known as Mfana kaGogo, started performing when he was 13 years old. Inspired by Limpopo Boy, his content has quickly gained thousands of viewers.

He said people find his jokes funny and say it is the kind of content they need.

His performances have seen his following rise to 23.1k followers with 273.4k likes on TikTok, and 5k followers on Facebook.

His aim is to use these platforms to build a profile in the entertainment industry while making the public laugh in the process. Sibiya said his media content became popular when he started posting funny videos imitating people and using trending TikTok sounds.

He said it was challenging reaching his target market, and he felt like he didn’t have enough support.

“Looking back, I faced scepticism and doubt. I felt like people thought my dreams were too ambitious – but I continued despite the lack of support,” said Sibiya.

His goal is to see himself as a celebrity on national TV.

To him, respect is the most important thing in life, and he believes that it is earned through hard work and staying true to yourself.
