The Emgwenya College alumni spoiled themselves to a tour of the Panorama Route and concluded the celebration with an intimate evening gala dinner at the Chill Pepper Boutique Hotel.

Some former students of the now-closed Emgwenya College of Education recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of its inception.

They came together at the Chill Pepper Boutique Hotel on October 24 to celebrate their milestones and successes.

Over the years, the college has produced numerous graduates who have gone on to hold prominent positions at both provincial and national levels, including Dr Reginah Mhaule, who is now serving as the deputy minister of basic education, the late deputy president, David Mabuza, popular novelist, Jabulane Ncongwane, as well as several directors and heads of departments.

The alumni also paid tribute those who have passed away.
The college is now operating as the Ehlanzeni District’s Department of Education offices.
